2026 Student Policy Brief Competition

***Calling ALL Students*** Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) has decided to host another Student Policy Brief competition at this year’s 16th Annual Canadian Agri-Food Policy Conference. This competition will involve choosing a media article related to agriculture and food policy and providing a critical assessment of the viewpoints expressed. Students will be asked to summarise the article, agree or refute its main points, and include a graph with data evidence to support their assessment. A template will be accessible through the CAES website.

The full Package will be available by January 5, 2026.

Please submit your briefing note by Friday January 16th 2:00 p.m. EST, to Jennifer Syme at jennifer.syme@agr.gc.ca

In order to be eligible to win the competition, students must be registered for the conference to receive the prize. The winners will be informed prior to the conference.

First Prize $200.00 cash

Second Prize $100.00 cash

*** Appel à TOUS les étudiants ***Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada (AAC) a décidé d’organiser un autre concours de rédaction de note pour les étudiants lors de la 16e conférence annuelle sur les politiques agricoles canadiennes. Ce concours consistera à choisir un article de la média relatif à l’agriculture et à la politique alimentaire et à fournir une évaluation critique des points de vue exprimés. Les étudiants devront résumer l’article, être d’accord ou réfuter ses points principaux, et inclure un graphique avec des données pour soutenir leur évaluation. Les instructions (modèle) sera accessible via le site web de la SCAE.

Le forfait complet sera disponible  le 5 janvier, 2026.

Veuillez soumettre votre note d’information d’ici le vendredi 16 janvier à 14h00 HNE à jennifer.syme@agr.gc.ca

Afin d’être admissibles à gagner le concours, les étudiants doivent être inscrits à la conférence pour recevoir le prix. Les gagnants seront informés avant la conférence.

Premier prix 200,00 $ en argent

Deuxième prix 100,00 $ en argent
