Research Associate, PRA Inc.

April 11, 2019/in
One position in Ottawa and one position in Winnipeg Posted 6 years ago

PRA Inc. is currently seeking applications to fill full-time Research Associate positions in our Ottawa and Winnipeg offices. These positions offer candidates dynamic opportunities to be involved in all aspects of applied research, ranging from project management, research design, data collection and analysis (both quantitative and qualitative), and report writing. Working in teams, all our research associates appreciate the challenges associated with conducting rigorous, evidence-based studies on real programs affecting real people. PRA serves a wide variety of clients, including federal departments and agencies such as the Canadian Space Agency, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Health Canada, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, and Justice Canada; provincial government bodies, like the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs; and non-profit organizations. For more information about our company, please visit our website at www.pra.ca.

New Research Associate(s) will primarily contribute to program evaluations. Evaluation involves the systematic assessment of the design, implementation or results of an initiative for the purposes of learning or decision-making. In support of these types of assessments, PRA designs and implements research processes that best suit clients’ needs and resources. These will often include a combination of quantitative (e.g. administrative data review or survey) and qualitative methods (e.g. key informant interviews, focus groups, literature and document reviews). PRA has been a key player in the Canadian evaluation community for over 30 years, with many of our researchers involved in the Canadian Evaluation Society at the national and local levels. For more information on evaluation and the Canadian Evaluation Society, please visit https://evaluationcanada.ca/.

Candidates must possess at least a Master’s degree in the social sciences, business, or public administration; or a law degree. The position requires superior analytical skills and high level oral and written communication skills in English and French, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Candidates’ capacity to understand, speak and write in both official languages will be tested throughout the application process through a written test and interview(s).

We offer competitive salaries and benefits with excellent opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as a welcoming and inclusive work environment.

“My favourite thing about being a CAES member is the way it brings together like-minded individuals who all have different knowledge and experience.  To be able to discuss relevant topics with people who have a broad range of expertise within the field is very beneficial.”
