RESEARCH AFFILIATE PROGRAM

DUTIES
Quantitative research project on Canadian dairy industry
Develop an econometric model for long-term forecasting of dairy production and dairy processors requirements in Canada Conduct a quantitative socio-economic analysis with a partial or general equilibrium model to calculate the impact of various policies on Canada’s dairy sector
Other quantitative studies will also be considered

ELIGIBILITY
Economics and Agricultural Economics graduate students
- Full-time student by the post-secondary educational institution in which the applicant is currently registered OR as a part-time student with a disability
- Minimum age to work in the province or territory where hired
- Currently registered in an academic program that prescribes research as a
program component

REQUIRED INFORMATION

1. Your CV
2. Academic transcript
3. Contact information for two (2) references
4. A research project description of no more than 1,000 words with signed approval from a supervisor
5. A letter explaining how you are motivated. You must indicate your expected timeline to meet all the requirements of your program during the scholarship.

DESIRED QUALITIES (TO BE ASSESSED LATER)
- Proficient in either French or English
- Knowledge of basic concepts of micro and macroeconomics, as well as statistics and econometrics
- Organizational skills
- Initiative
- Interactive communication
- Teamwork
- Ability to work with minimum supervision

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
- Potential for summer employment at the CDC as Research
Affiliate Program student
- Potential for future employment after completion of Research Affiliate Program

SCHOLARSHIP
$12,500 per year (for a maximum of $25,000 over two (2) years)

START DATE : September 2020
