Get Involved!
Through its various activities the CAES advances knowledge, provides a signal of quality to faculties, organizations and others, and enhances the capacity of its members to provide leadership to the field of agricultural economics in Canada.
Are you interested in helping the Society meet its goals? We encourage you to serve on the Board of Directors or as an Editor of the Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics.
Every year, we seek three Councillors and a President-Elect to sit on the Board as Directors. Board members help shape the future direction of the Society and carry out important activities while Editors are instrumental in shaping the intellectual direction of the journal.
Nominations Process
The quality and transparency of our process is enhanced when academic departments as well as affiliated organizations actively consider individuals to nominate or suggest for these positions. For this reason, we accept nominations to the Board of Directors and your suggestions for CJAE Editors at any time throughout the year.
Nominate yourself or others for consideration – and have discussions regarding nominations from your organization on an ongoing basis.
Selection Process
If there are multiple nominations, an election is called. In the absence of nominations, the past-president personally contacts members to fill these roles.
Editors are selected from a database of possible candidates maintained by the Publications Committee, to ensure the Editors, as a group, can adequately handle submissions of the topics received.
How to Submit
Send your nominations for President-Elect and Councillors, and suggestions for future Editors, at any time to contact@caes-scae.ca. Nominations will not be made public without consent of the nominated individuals unless they stand for election.
