HISTORY
The Canadian Agricultural Economics & Farm Management Foundation (the Foundation) was incorporated as a charitable corporation under Part II of the Canada Corporations Act (CCA) on October 31, 1988. Part II of CCA (which dated back to 1917) was replaced by the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act on October 17, 2011 to modernize corporate governance rules for not-for-profits and provide clarification on the roles and responsibilities of members, directors, officers and other interested parties. The Foundation submitted articles of continuance and received a certificate of continuance from Corporations Canada to replace the previous letters patent. The Articles of Continuance and new CAEFM Bylaws were approved in a special resolution at the 2013 Annual Business Meeting on August 4, 2013 and approved by Corporations Canada on October 1, 2013.
