Research Analyst, Statistics

Under the direction of the Data Analytics Manager, the Research Analyst, Statistics will participate in research studies and provide analysis with a focus on impact analysis on programs, premium rates, and probable yields. The position will support the Product Division through insights and analysis of data, allowing the team to utilize data driven decision making processes. An outward focus and ability to translate complex problems into simple concepts will be essential to the role’s success.

Essential Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Statistics, Actuarial Science or Mathematics, preferably at the Masters level, with several years’ related experience in applying analytical and statistical principles, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Experience in applying statistical or actuarial models to data.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) in a cloud-based environment, with advanced capabilities in Excel.
  • Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and accurately input, manipulate, and verify large amounts of data.
  • Ability to clearly summarize data and analysis.
  • Ability to apply corporate policies, procedures and acts related to statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of mathematics, statistical, and actuarial analysis.

Desired Qualifications

  • Designation in Actuarial Science or working towards designation, is an asset.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba.

This position has a salary range of $70,281 to $88,211 per annum (under review).
