POST-CONFERENCE LEARNING WORKSHOP
Evaluation of Public Policy / Program Interventions and Observational Microdata
Friday, July 12, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Organized by Getu Hailu, University of Guelph, and Kara Beckles, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
The role of observational microdata and public policy/program evaluation has become more important over time for government departments and academics alike. Meanwhile, there is an increasing recognition that the complexity of twenty-first century society requires statistical and other data-rich government institutions to work together with the research community in partnership.
This hands-on course is designed to allow government and academic researchers to evaluate public program using advances in microeconometrics. The course will focus on agri-food related public programs and policies, identify observational microdata for program evaluation and identify research questions that are of interest to provincial and federal government institutions.
The workshop is open to CAES members and free to attend. Space is limited. Further information will be posted in the coming months.
